Maps as Art

I have used maps and sea charts as art in my house for several years and it looks like Elle Décor agrees with me that it is a great way of having interesting and esthetical displays on your walls. By using maps and sea charts you can also put places that is important to you on display. For me this is also an additional 'home away from home' trick.

Inspiration; Interiority Complex

A while back I discovered Interiority Complex, a blog written by Dale Saylor , a Manhattan–based interior designer, and Joe Williamson , a landscape architect. The blog focuses on the restoration of the couple's 1827 Colonial-style farmhouse in New York State. Their previous house renovation featured in the American magazine Elle Decor in June 2009. More IKEA

More IKEA design; Malm drawers (again). A contemporary and versatile design that has been around for a few years now, IKEA does however keep extending the range and the colors. New Inspiration

I found a new inspirational site yesterday, Alvhem Estate agent in Gothenburg. They do home styling in a homely 'I can see myself living here' kind of way. These country style kitchens are from two different flats they currently have for sale.

IKEA Favorites

IKEA

As a fellow Swede I have quite a few IKEA items in my home that I mix with other more expensive designs. A few of my best IKEA finds right. Malm drawers with new top, vase 'Vasen', bedside lamps and chaise long.

Svenskt Tenn's Elephant Pattern

Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm has a lovely collection of fabrics and the one I like the best is their own the elephant patters. They do a range of products; trays, lampshades, matches, napkins, cushions etc, in the pattern in a series of different colors.

Tulips & Alvar Alto

Mid-February and spring feels like it going to be a while yet...but nothing makes the house more spring like then tulips! One of my recent purchases was the classic Alvar Alto vase from Iittala (right) and tulips, even though not specifically made for tulips, just look fantastic in it.

Apartment in Stockholm, with New England feel

This is my apartment in Stockholm that we use as much as we can on holiday or for long weekends

Our home in London

Our home, a flat in an old Victorian Mansion Block in West London and the style I have tried to acheive is a the look and feel of a Stockholm apartment, a home away from home, with white walls and light wooden floors.

New bathroom pictures

I'm thinking of putting a new bathroom in my mansion block flat. I want it to look Victorian, but also modern and Scandinavian.

Few ideas attached!
