Hydrangeas

I like hydrengeas, even though they are quite old fashion looking. I have them on the patio in the summer then dry the flowers and spray with silver glitter paint for continues enjoyment in winter (very good as Christmas decorations). I especially like the purple and dark blue shades.

A Hamptons home at it's very best, for sale and advetised in the Hamptons Magazine and has everything you can potentially need from a holiday home, including the outdoor fireplace for chilly evenings and high cozy factor.

Rustic Cabin Look for Fall

More Slettvoll to share, I just love this company and I could just move right in to this picture! I never considered black cushions, but might just give it a go together with some white and beige. I also love this fireplace. We are building one outside and this look would be perfect!

Beach Cottage to Love

And another one also from AD, this lovely renovated 1940s beach cottage is located on the American East Coast, but slightly further south then properties I usually share with you, in South Carolina. Thought this  beach dream is well worth showing though as it has all the required characteristics of a perfect summer retreat; on the beach, clean, white and light filled. Absolutely gorgeous place to spend the upcoming long weekend!

California Dreaming...

Another dreamy house by AD, my newly re-discovered source of inspiration as mentioned yesterday. I would love to have their outdoor living room...And love the floors in the living room and are creating a very similar kitchen island for the new kitchen.

I haven't been able to surf the internet as much as I use to over the summer and have re-discovered a few old favorite websites Architectural Digest being one of them. Fall is here!

Well maybe not just yet but fall collections sure are. Lexington is doing Manhattan Loft; industrial feel mixed with soft furnitures.  New for this year from Lexington is that they have extended ther fabrics used from just cotton to  plusher/ softer materials almost with a seventies sweat pants feel . I like it!

Fall collections are coming in fast and hard! One of my absolute favorites, as always is Slettvoll. Muted neutral and quite masculine. Love it, please open a shop in the UK soon!

Beach House

We were promised some warmer weather but it has yet to come...Wouldn't mind hanging in this lovely beach house on summer weekends, rainy and cold or sunshine. Lake/ sea access and cozy interior is all I ask for!

Fall Collections are Here

Swedish company Ceannis, that mainly is focusing on soft accessories such as cushions fall collection is in. Neutral soft colors. I love their 'egg' cushions and below you can see they have extended this range to throws and lamp shades too!

American Classic

American Classic, country or Pottery Barn? The below home was recently featured in Skona Hem. It looks like it could be taken straight out of Pottery Barn's more classic collection. I like the timeless warm style and the style would look lovely anywhere!

Color Trends for Fall

New season, new trends, new colors. True both for fashion and interior. The most common color schemes for fall are warmer, brownish or purple colors with high cozy factor. Swedish magazine Skona Hem is arguing for fresher muted blues. Different but I like it!

Color for the Bedroom

Window renovation done and in the process the walls have been slightly damaged and needs re-painting which is both good and bad news, bad news as they were very recently decorated and good news as I can try a new color. I tent to do feature walls rather then the whole bedroom, which means bolder colors can be used. Might be a bit old fashion and naughties but I think it works very well. Question is how to choose the color... muted blues and green is usually a good choice for serenity but our west facing room requires something stronger.  Thinking taupe or dark navy blue. Blue Theme

I got all these really nice blue, beige and white cushions to dress up the living room for summer (classic summary blue and white) but as the building work has gone one and on less and less of the house have been liveable and it is now more or less down to one bedroom... The pro of this is that I manage to get my hands on this lovely cushion in the Slettvoll sale and I can't wait to use it! (front one on the picture)

Sun Flowers

Sun flowers always reminds me of going back to school. Currntly this lovely late summer flower seem to be every where. Love it, even though I am generally not a great fan of yellow.

Bath in the Loft 2

Living Room by Pottery Barn

I love Pottery Barn's shops, site and catalogues. loads of inspirational ideas for all rooms and seasons! As we are still living on a building site there is unfortunately not much decoration going on at home at the moment, but hopefully it will all be done in one months’ time, but until them loading pictures in the inspirational library. Below a beautiful mix of reproduction/ antique, which Pottery Barn does very well with white. Me like!

Slettvoll Living

I'm waiting for the new catalogue from Norwegian interior design company Slettvoll to come, went past their store in Stockholm last weekend but it was closed... Hope to catch some inspiring fall ideas from them very soon, but in the meantime enjoy this summery picture of the Jamaica outdoor furniture range.

Beach Cottage by IKEA

Back at work an promise to get better with updating the blog and it shouldn't be any problems at all as there are fall previews and new collections everywhere! I'm still in a vacation mode though and though I share this lovely picture from the Beach Cottage's IKEA corner. Looks great!

Bath in the Loft

Currently looking for new ideas for the inspiration file for bathrooms and loft spaces, most likely the next two projects if we recover from the current one. Colorful bath and porthole mirror for a bath in the eaves like the below might be an option!
