Blue & White is the Colors of Choice...

...for a real crisp spring/ summer country feel. I love it! Very New England country and very Swedish archipelago. Artwood showed bits and pieces from the Indigo collection at Formex (the Scandinavian design event of the year). A selection of items from the collection below, very many 'I want items'! Spring feel enhanced by hydrangeas and the country chic rug!  Unfortunately, as of yet have not found an international retailer...

Black & White Home

This lovely all black & white home from the 1920s belongs to one of the designers at Swedish Skona Hem.  I like the mixture of old and new and the monochrome style, but however lovely it is I think I needs a few splashes of color for the real wow-factor. If I was my home I would add some pink, yellow and orange velvet cushions (posh-living sells them online!) for an instant impact!

Spring Is In the Air...

Bedroom for Spring

One of my current projects is the master bedroom, it is a good sized room, quite bright (west facing) and needs to become more cozy less just another bedroom like! Started to re-paint the walls and a mix of white with a grey is working well but still needs more fluffing to become perfect. This far I have flowers, pots and a few details sorted (and have stained the IKEA Malm dresser a darker brown that works very well with the floors).  Found these great inspirational pictures on Skona Hem (more  pictures available on the link), so guess I am not the only one, GANT Home from last spring and Lexington Fall 2011.

One Thing For Spring...

.... I am on the look out for at the moment is a large glass vase to have on the floor in the kitchen. Have one that I found at an antique market in France a few years back, but nee another one (as the house has grown since then :0). Might get this lovely piece from TineK. Just afraid that shopping at TineK might blow my budget as she has so much of the must haves...

A Cozy Celeb Home

This very homely and cozy Californian pad belongs to actress couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Unusually understated and cozy for being a, most likely, several million CA/ Beverly Hills home, I could move right in! Home featured in AD.

Eames at the Dining Table

Love the Eames chairs, we have the white ones of these and theylook stunning matched with the more traditional mill table with metal top we have or like this with black matching legs and modern lights. And comfy to sit on!

A White Home - Just What the Doctor Ordered

This white home Washington DC home looks like it could be decorated by myself! Everything from the kitchen with the dark floor boards and tops and the white units to the bathroom. Even the sofa looks like the one on to my buy list and I have tried that baby blue in the bedroom! It's not our home though, but a very lovely family home belonging to two DC physicians.  Read more on Country Life.

Found It!

A modular, build on site sofa for small London hallways that is! Sofa.com understands that even if you live in a Victorian house you might still want a larg(er) then the tiny hallway sofa! Fantastic idea and awesome for all of us who can get nice looking furniture without having to worry about whether it will fit through the sash window or not! This is the one I have my mind set on, the bluebell (but it will of course be ordered in white and the three seater!).

In Love with the Hamptons...

In Love with the Hamptons is what Swedish Lexington is calling their Spring 2012 collection. Baby pink, blue and beige mixed with stronger blues and red gives a vacation country feel to it. Love the house in the pictures and will take inspiration for the summer look for the bedrooms.

Compact Loft Living

White and Personal

Yet another lovely white, stylish Scandinavian home, this time from the magazine Residence and located in the south-westerly corner of Sweden. Like the living room most and the white (Acne made) sofa with pale pink and lilac cushions. Thinking of getting the same 'light bulb lamp' in the bedroom.

 

Coffe Table on Wheels

Some more pictures of this great coffee table. Bit of nice wood and caster wheels, simple and yet so attractive! Conran sells something very similar but not as nice. I love it! The home belongs to owner of by Nord a Danish interior design company that uses typical Scandinavian material and look and feel of the landscape in their designs (cushion with Indian face is from their shop too so might actually be an Eskimo from Greenland?!).

Spring and Summer in Colors

Ceannis Spring 2012 is colorful. Love this Swedish Companies cushions as they last so well. New for spring is more color and classic summer with blue and white. Note the great big knitted throw blow, just like wrapping yourself in your old favorite sweater!

Tine K Spring 2012

Next out for the Spring collection 2012 week is Tine K. I love Danish designer Tine K's stuff (and recently realized they ship to the UK too!) Her spring 2012 is filled with powdery pastels, pale summer cottage blue and green. Love the setting of these press photos too filled with white, light with some added French antic-styled furniture and wood!

Rustic at Pottery Barn

I think I will dedicate this week to spring collections. Spring is really in the air at Pottery Barn, not so much in London yet but planning for it has started! The early spring 2012 collection at Pottery Barn is very rustic, pale green and light. Love these big windows behind the sofa and the idea of having an old trunk as a sofa table! Also seen lots of the layering of rugs lately, adds texture and color and is easy to change with seasons.

Prints for the Walls

Quite in to prints at the moment and love these from Therese Sennerholt. Prints, together with photos is such an easy, simple and clever way to personalize your home. Other great place to go for prints is not on the highstreet.
