Fall by Day Home

I always look forward to the new Day Home collection coming and press pictures for the fall collection 2012 has just been distributed. I'm not too sure about the rusty reds, but I absolutely love the black tray tables!

Gray Walls

As usual when I am looking for inspiration for something I find a whole lot of other stuff that just have to go on the inspiration board, but not just for this specific project! Currently looking for the perfect bathroom floor, design and look to last and that will marry nicely with the rest of the house and keep finding pictures of beautiful living rooms with gray walls in all different shades...Is someone trying to tell me something here?!

Mini Office

When living in small houses using every single square cm in your house is essential, before we had the luxury of having a whole spare room to use as an office e created an office space in a small cupboard in the hall-way, similar to the below and it worked extremely well! Today's project is to arrange the small utility cupboard we have to make it super slick! To be followed by the under stairs cupboard...

Danish White

It is definitely something special about Danish houses, design and interior. They seem to, for such a small country, have abundance of beautiful houses and people decorating their homes in the most fantastic ways! Found this on Apent Hus

Really like the exposed beams to add some character to the loft space, wondering if this is possible for us...

Modern Country in Gray

Found this lovely little English cottage in Living Etc / House to Home. I have been thinking whether to repaint the white walls a soft gray similar to the wall in this living room. The cottage oozes sea feel, it's almost like you can smell the salty air! Love the country looking bath too!

Bathroom Dreams a la Pottery Barn

I keep coming back to the modern classic/ country style of bathrooms that I really like and Pottery Barn does this style so well. I have searched high and low in Europe for a provider that does similar ranges 'off the rack' but can't find anyone who does. The only solution might be to get it shipped ;0) Another decision I have to make is whether to go for a single vanity unit, two pedestals, a larger single unit (like the one with red towels below) or two single vanity units as his and hers.

Modern Country Bathrooms

As I am searching for inspiration for our two bathrooms that we will hopefully redo in the next six months I tend to find more and more inspiration from American styled modern country baths. I love the airy feel, big showers, classic furniture and fittings; a bath that will be attractive for years to come! Pictures all borrowed from Houzz.

Country Cottage Anyone?

Well, maybe not a cottage as such but what this NYC family opted for when deciding the city was to be swapped for the countryside. Pictures borrowed from Houzz. Love the big kitchen and the opening to the dining table casual and modern and who could possibly resist this fireplace!

And great idea to put the cabinet in the stud wall on the side!

More American Architure!

As you all know I love New England design and the architecture there, lying panels, shingle style, large kitchens, pillars and wrap around porches. Usually within a stunning setting and very close to the beach. Who would not want  this relaxed lifestyle? I totally understand city dwellers moving north from NYC to get more space and more time! Anyway, found of the day is another New England architect on Houzz with one of their stunning houses below.

New Favorite!

Always great when you discover a new blog that is amazing. My latest finds is 17 doors, named after the 17 doors they have in their flat!  Below picture of her balcony, simple yet beautiful with lavender in flower boxes and rosemary in pots. Updating my daily blog fix list!

Danish Black & White

Maybe not the most unique of homes, but oh so lovely. I love mixing black and white and I think all (the majority at last) Scandinavian's really love to have light walls to create more light, if just an illusion of light especially the darker part of the year natural. Plus it is super easy to max ad mix with pops of any color! Also love the conservatory or garden room, which I BTW recently have seen quite a few stunning examples of (reminder to myself to show you!)

Tiles for the Bath?

I'm considering mixing New England and Moroccan style, similar to what what Vedum has done in these pictures. Thinking same type of furniture and tiles, but in a greyer version and on the floor instead of splash back. Any reflections on how classic this is? Or will I get bored instantly?

Very Scandinavian

This is a great example of what I would call very Scandinavian, the original pine floors sanded and limed, an original fireplace (although not in working condition) and modern designer furniture to match the traditional details. I love it!

Another Californian Dream

Yup, they seem to have tons of pretty houses out there. Love this house that looks like an old converted farmhouse. The lights over the living room table are amazing as is the bathroom, the bedroom door and the walk-in closet!

Californian Living

I love both the US coats, Northern California and New England being the top choices. I love the way a lot of the houses out there are built for easy yet stylish living very much combining modern, country & beach. Like this San Fran home designed by Artistic Design for Living.
