Flower Pots in Silver

I love the look of myrtles in silver pots and am on the look out for one just like this. I think this one is a TineK design,  if it's not it is by someone who does her look very well. However I am just to find one on the UK online shops...

American Classic

Not just me who's in love  with American styled interior! The Swedish interior design magazine Skona Hem recently launched their inspiration galleries and the latest addition American Classics. Although must say, for me American Classic and New England is not the exact equivalent only part of it is, such as the Adriondack chair, white wood panel and blue accents. A few selected pictures below, more here.

Modern Country II

And take two of this lovely home and the interior. Think  there is plenty to  love everything about this house, the 'cabin guest bunks', the rope as a bannister, the tolix stools, the wooden floors and light well everything.

Modern Country

Modern Country is how I described my style to someone the other day and by that I would mean something like the below. This amazing refurbished farmhouse has the modern yet homely coziness to it that I try to capture with the term modern country. There are just so many pictures from this lovely space I have decided to spread it out over a few days, starting with the exterior. Enjoy!

Heading to IKEA

Today's excursion IKEA. I'm hoping to finally get the new summer rug for the living room and am keen on the Tarnby rug. I found on a fellow bloggers blog. I am hoping it will look just as good IRL (i.e. it's a more brownish color then yellow) and that it will look as good in my living room as it does in hers! Fingers crossed!

Bye Bye Flamant...

... yes unfortunately our local Flamant shop, Ma Masion, has closed down. Very sad I think as it was one of the few, or even very few, independent shops with high street prices around...

Pictures above is from the Flamant Spring 2012 collection. See more here

Searching for a New Bath

Current design project in the house is the bathroom. It is not in a really bad state but needs updating and the layout needs changing as it is not optimal at as it is, the WC is separate to the bathroom which  leaves a lot of dead space. Personally I'm a shower person and can't wait to have a great walk in shower, but for re-sell purposes still need a bath at this bathroom will still be the family bath as such. Found this amazing one (the White Company uses it for store styling) and it would be absolutely perfect, if it wasn't for the price of £5.000 excluding VAT...

Light Airy Stockholm Loft

Not that I am looking to move to Stockholm, but for inspiration I try and keep up to date with what a few selected agents currently have on their books. This light loft is currently on with Lagerlings for an amount well out of my budget, but still saved to the inspiration files for hat they done with the velux windows to maximize light and the very cozy bedroom. A would label this a Slettvoll-ish apartment!

Summer at the White Company

New Summer collection from the White Company in stores. White and pale blue cushions and fabrics, gray metal lanterns and summer dining al fresco. Their Sloane Square shop is as inviting as ever and I just wish the weather would pick up so I could recreate outside...

Kitchen & More Kitchens

Next project in the house is a new bathroom, I'm however struggling to find inspiration pictures of what exactly I want. That's not the case for kitchen, quite the opposite although that is not even on the agenda for several years (I think...). This lovely New England styled kitchen is designed by Lynn Morgan. Have a look at her portfolio she creates very nice designs.

Rural New York

Lovely home in rural New York. I would consider something like this for summer living...or possibly year round, as long as it is close enough to the city for some city buzz every now and then. Adding this type of bath to our new bathroom (in the city). Picture from Country Living.

Happy Friday 13th!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall...

... Living in a smallish house also means we'll have to be clever with how to make it feel bigger. And the number one fix for that is mirrors. Love the look of this round mirror found online, I'm not sure where it's from but I have my eye on a similar one, Lumi, that I have found at Skandium. Doesn't look much in the picture on their website, but in real life it's stunning. Now only have to decide on what diameter (60 or 80) and what finish (walnut or oak)...

Summer Living

Easter is over and it's time to plan the summer holiday. This year I'm thinking  renting a little house in one of the very pretty New England towns. Tons of pretty cottages in pretty towns to chose from...I think I'm destined to live in one of these one day! Below is from the New England Magazine that always has homes to die for on display!

Country Living in The City

As always Alvhem Makleri is one of my favorite sites for inspiration on what to do with apartments and houses. This apartment really has a great country living in the city feel to it. A perfect inspiration for easy summer living! Also envy their hallway, I would love to have a hallway that is not too narrow to actually furnish. Oh well, next home!

New Rug Needed!

I'm after a new rug for the living room at the moment and found this rug from IKEA's Stockholm collection. Unfortunately too stripy for what I'm after but will check it out next time I'm heading to the Blue and Yellow store!

California Beach

I wish I was heading to my California beach house for the long weekend. Or any beach house for that matter...Until that day have to make due with staying in London and watching the Oxbridge Boat Race on Saturday.
